Archer Aviation (ACHR.US) announced plans on Wednesday to operate an air taxi network in the Miami metropolitan area. The network will connect Miami, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and Fort Lauderdale via air taxi flights. It will also link the region's three major international airports: Miami International Airport, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and Palm Beach International Airport, along with strategic general aviation airports in the area.
Real estate firm Related Ross will construct a vertiport at its downtown West Palm Beach development. Hard Rock Stadium and Apogee Golf Club will retrofit their existing helipads to accommodate electric operations in support of the air taxi service. Dragon Global will build a vertiport site at the Magic City Innovation District, a development in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood.
Archer's air taxi network will operate its piloted "Midnight" aircraft, designed to carry four passengers.
