Exclusive: Amap Officially Embarks on World Model Development, Set to Launch New Product

Deep News01-05

Amap, a subsidiary of Alibaba, has initiated the development of a world model and plans to launch a new product application based on this technology. The model has already achieved top rankings across multiple metrics on the WorldScore spatial intelligence evaluation benchmark. WorldScore, proposed by a team led by renowned AI scientist and Stanford University Professor Fei-Fei Li, represents the first open-source benchmark supporting unified evaluation of multimodal world generation models. Furthermore, Amap has internally established an Embodied Business Department. On recruitment platforms, Amap has posted multiple job openings for this department, including roles such as Embodied Intelligence Product Specialist and Data/Algorithm Engineer. Sources indicate that product forms like robots and robotic dogs are among the exploration directions of the Embodied Business Department. In August 2025, Amap announced a comprehensive shift towards AI, fully transitioning to spatial intelligence. Subsequently, in September of the same year, it launched the local lifestyle product "Amap Street Sweeping List." Recently, Alibaba Group's latest flagship AI application "Qianwen" chose Amap and the Amap Street Sweeping List as the first Alibaba ecosystem scenarios to be integrated.
