BASICSEMI (HK: 09971) saw its shares jump more than 10% during Tuesday's afternoon session, reflecting robust investor sentiment. At the time of writing, the stock was trading up 10.73% at HK$46.04, with a turnover of HK$12.698 million.

The catalyst for this rally came from a newly signed strategic cooperation agreement between the company and UBTECH ROBOTICS. The partnership focuses on the application of silicon carbide (SiC) power devices within the humanoid robotics sector, with key areas of collaboration including power management and motion control modules aimed at optimizing energy efficiency and extending battery life. On the production front, BASICSEMI intends to deploy UBTECH ROBOTICS' humanoid robots on its own SiC production lines, leveraging this automation for intelligent upgrades in wafer manufacturing and module packaging processes.

It is worth highlighting that BASICSEMI's first-half revenue reached RMB 121 million, representing a 15.5% year-on-year increase. More notably, the company achieved a remarkable 31.6 percentage point improvement in its gross margin, reaching a significant milestone of turning gross margin positive during the period. During this timeframe, industrial-grade SiC power modules experienced a dramatic year-on-year growth of 2,825.1%, while SiC MOSFET revenue surged by 582.3%. This indicates a combined year-on-year growth of approximately 876% for industrial modules and SiC MOSFET segments. Furthermore, the proportion of total revenue contributed by these two segments has rapidly escalated from roughly 3.6% to 30.5%.
