MINIMAX-W Shares Surge Over 6% After Index Inclusion and Connect Program Admission

MINIMAX-W (00100) shares extended their rally, climbing over 6% in intraday trading. As of the latest report, the stock was up 5.32% to HK$376.4, with trading volume reaching HK$3.091 billion.

On the news front, HKEX recently announced that MINIMAX has met the fast-entry rules for the HKEX Technology 100 Index. The company will be included in both the HKEX Technology 100 Index and the HKEX Technology & US Technology 100 Index after the market close on August 12, with the changes taking effect on August 13. Notably, MINIMAX was also added to the Stock Connect program on August 6.

In a research note, Daiwa stated that MINIMAX has steadily narrowed the capability gap with Western leading model developers while maintaining a strong cost-efficiency advantage. Despite significantly lower R&D spending and fewer resources, its flagship M3 model remains competitively ranked in global benchmark tests, highlighting the company's strength in model development and execution. The brokerage believes that MINIMAX's differentiated value-for-money positioning allows it to effectively capture the growing AI demand, particularly from cost-sensitive enterprises and developers.
