In a product launch event for the large five-seat version of the NIO ES8, the company's founder, chairman, and CEO, Li Bin, delivered a keynote address.
He stated that the new NIO Inc. ES8 achieved 120,000 unit deliveries within 275 days of its launch, securing the top sales position in the large SUV segment and among models priced around 400,000 yuan for six consecutive months.
Li Bin highlighted that the new ES8 has also driven a significant increase in the electric vehicle penetration rate within the 350,000 to 500,000 yuan three-row SUV market, rising from 10% in August 2025 to 52% by May of this year.
He noted that the electric penetration rate in the 350,000 to 500,000 yuan five-seat SUV market was only 6.25% in May 2026. The goal for the NIO ES8 large five-seat version is to propel the entire large five-seat SUV category into the electric era.
