A significant adjustment to domestic fuel prices is scheduled for tonight. According to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the window for changing domestic refined oil product prices will open at midnight on August 14th. Based on monitoring by the NDRC's Price Monitoring Center, international oil prices experienced a dip followed by a recovery during the current pricing cycle, which ran from midnight on July 31st to midnight on August 14th.
Effective from midnight on August 14th, the retail price caps for domestic gasoline and diesel will be lowered by 230 yuan per ton and 220 yuan per ton, respectively. On a national average basis, this translates to a reduction of 0.18 yuan per liter for 92-octane gasoline, 0.19 yuan per liter for 95-octane gasoline, and 0.19 yuan per liter for 0-diesel. For the average driver, this confirmation of the retail price reduction means that filling up a standard 50-liter tank of 92-octane gasoline will cost 9 yuan less.
