Pharmaceutical Sector Attracts Capital Rotation, GlaxoSmithKline Surges Nearly 5%

Stock News07-02 23:47

The pharmaceutical sector is once again experiencing a rotation of capital inflows.

GlaxoSmithKline PLC (GSK.US) shares are up nearly 5%. Novo Nordisk A/S (NVO.US) and Sanofi (SNY.US) have gained more than 3%, while Eli Lilly and Company (LLY.US) is up over 2%.

Analysts note that recent sustained adjustments in the technology, AI model, and semiconductor sectors, coupled with serious market concerns over overheated AI computing power investments, cost control issues, and high valuations, have led to high-level volatility and profit-taking in these related areas.

This has resulted in capital concentrating its shift towards the pharmaceutical sector, which is characterized by strong, inelastic demand and is less impacted by economic cycles.
