Recently, several energy storage projects constructed by Xinyuan Zhichu, a subsidiary of China Power (China Power International) under the SPIC Group, in regions such as Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Xinjiang, and Qinghai have been successively connected to the grid and commenced operation. These projects cover various scales and application scenarios, providing robust support for regional grid peak shaving, frequency regulation, and the integration of new energy sources, thereby driving the optimization and upgrading of the energy structure.
The Xinyuan Zhichu 150 MW/600 MWh new energy supporting storage project in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, is located near the Jinsha 500 kV substation in Naiman Banner, Tongliao City. Upon commissioning, the project will offer fast and flexible power support and frequency regulation services for the Eastern Inner Mongolia grid, significantly enhancing the grid's capacity to absorb fluctuating power sources like wind and solar, and further strengthening regional power supply reliability and economic operational levels.
The Xinyuan Zhichu 10 MW/20 MWh energy storage project in Jingyuan, Gansu, is situated in Jingyuan County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province. During construction, the project team emphasized the implementation of specialized technical measures, including windbreak and sand fixation, as well as low-temperature construction techniques, utilizing energy storage equipment and installation methods adapted to harsh environments to successfully complete system integration and debugging. Once operational, the project will provide frequency regulation and backup support for local new energy projects, mitigating grid fluctuations and improving power supply quality and renewable energy utilization rates.
The Xinyuan Zhichu 10 MW/20 MWh energy storage project in Yizhou District, Hami City, Xinjiang, serves as a supporting storage facility for distributed photovoltaic systems, focusing on local consumption of new energy and voltage support. After being connected to the grid, it will deliver rapid power regulation and output smoothing services for surrounding photovoltaic power stations, enhancing the operational stability of the distribution system and aiding Yizhou District in building a highly resilient, high-penetration new energy grid.
The first phase of the Xinyuan Zhichu 200 MW/800 MWh supporting storage project in Gonghe, Qinghai, is located in Talatan, Gonghe County, Hainan Prefecture, Qinghai Province. Overcoming numerous challenges related to energy storage system integration and installation in high-altitude, cold regions, the project will effectively boost the peak shaving and frequency regulation capabilities of the Hainan Prefecture grid upon operation, increase system operational flexibility, promote the efficient absorption of nearby wind and solar power generation, and support Qinghai's goal of becoming a national clean energy demonstration hub. All systems and equipment of the wind turbine units are operating stably, with key operational parameters meeting the requirements of technical specifications and regulations.
