Direct Drive Tech Limited (DIRECT DRIVE) announced on 29 September 2026 that it has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with China Rare Earth Group Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. (CRE Innovation), a wholly owned platform of China Rare Earth Group focused on new materials and applications.
Under the agreement, both parties will establish a system for regular technical exchanges and jointly develop high-performance magnetic materials—specifically neodymium-iron-boron magnets, flux-concentrating magnetic rings and radially magnetized rings—tailored for direct-drive motor applications. The collaboration targets key performance metrics such as magnetic optimization, motor miniaturization and high-torque output to accelerate deployment of direct-drive actuator modules in embodied robotics, smart home devices, industrial automation and high-end medical equipment.
Beyond R&D, DIRECT DRIVE and CRE Innovation intend to strengthen the domestic supply chain from rare-earth materials to robotic drive components. The partners will evaluate industry-finance integration models—including equity investments and industrial funds—while advancing talent development and technology upgrades across the sector.
CRE Innovation operates a Ministry of Industry and Information Technology–designated pilot platform for high-end rare-earth functional materials and controls significant resources spanning raw materials, R&D and industrial investment.
DIRECT DRIVE positions itself as a global robotics technology company specializing in direct-drive actuator modules, robotic joints and complete robot systems, with product distribution in more than 50 countries and established deployments in consumer robots, industrial automation and intelligent equipment.
The companies will execute subsequent implementation agreements on normal commercial terms compliant with applicable laws and Hong Kong Stock Exchange requirements. Further announcements will be made as necessary, and investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in DIRECT DRIVE securities.
