China Construction Bank Issues 60 Billion Yuan in Subordinated Capital Bonds

The China Construction Bank Corporation (HKEX: 00939) has announced the completion of a major bond issuance. With approval from the relevant regulatory authorities, the bank recently issued its 2026 Subordinated Capital Bonds (Tranche I) (Bond Connect) in the national interbank bond market. The issuance was successfully finalized on June 9, 2026.

The total issuance scale for this tranche of bonds amounts to 60 billion yuan. These are 10-year fixed-rate bonds featuring a conditional issuer redemption option at the end of the fifth year. The coupon rate for the bonds has been set at 1.89%.

The funds raised through this bond issuance will be utilized to replenish the bank's Tier 2 capital, in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory approvals.
