RTX Corp announced on Tuesday that it has secured a $1.6 billion maintenance contract for the F135 engine, which powers various models of Lockheed Martin's F-35 fighter jets.

The contract covers depot-level maintenance and repair services, engineering support, and replenishment of spare parts inventory for both U.S. and international customers.

Pratt & Whitney, RTX Corp's engine manufacturing division, has delivered over 1,300 F135 engines to the U.S. and 20 allied nations to date.

In August this year, RTX Corp had previously won a $2.8 billion contract for F135 engine production.
