Renshou's transportation strategy consistently revolves around two themes—"development" and "livelihoods"—with the "major loop" breaking development bottlenecks by prioritizing "smooth flow," while the "minor loop" alleviates livelihood bottlenecks by focusing on "connectivity." Together, they compose a vivid chapter of "roads serving the people" in the new era.
**"Major Corridor" Drives "5678" Network, Supporting a "Half-Hour" Commute Circle** During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Renshou's transportation infrastructure entered a fast-track phase. With a total investment of 7.81 billion yuan and 990 million yuan in secured funding, the county has built a robust "skeleton" for its integrated transportation network. "We focus on opening major corridors and smoothing 'micro-circulations,' vigorously advancing railway, expressway, national-provincial trunk roads, rapid transit corridors, and rural highway construction. This has essentially formed a '5678' comprehensive transportation network and four 'half-hour traffic circles,'" explained Li Fei, head of Renshou County's Rural Highway Construction Division.
The blueprint is becoming reality: the Lianwangyan Railway is officially operational, the S5 intercity rail line is progressing steadily, and five expressways spanning 246 kilometers crisscross the region, placing Renshou among the top in provincial road density. Projects like the Tianmeile and Lezi Expressways have commenced, while the Chengchi Expressway expansion is imminent. Key roads such as the South Extension of Hongxing Road, the Tianfu New Area Ring Expressway, and Tianfu-Renshou Avenue have opened to traffic, with the Renshou-Jianyang Rapid Transit Corridor set to resume construction by year-end.
Meanwhile, the three-year transportation infrastructure upgrade initiative has completed over 2,400 kilometers of rural roads, earning Renshou the title of "Four Good Rural Roads" provincial demonstration county and a 2024 provincial construction excellence award.
**"Industrial Loop" Energizes "Economic Veins," Sparking Rural Vitality** Transportation transformation directly catalyzes economic growth. The 60-kilometer industrial loop, upgraded from county and township roads linking Zhujia, Qinggang, Fangjia, Fujia, and Outang, functions as a robust "economic circulation line," connecting grain zones, Renshou Economic Development Zone, citrus plantations, and five key towns.
"Honestly, since the road was widened, our community's fruit farmers have seen annual net income increases of over 20,000 yuan," said Wu Shuai, Party Secretary of Banqiao Town's Tuanyuan Community. He recalled how narrow roads once forced farmers to rely on motorcycles and small trucks to transport produce three kilometers away. "Now, large trucks drive straight into orchards for on-site picking and immediate loading—it's a game-changer!"
This exemplifies Renshou's shift from "access" to "efficiency." Since 2021, nearly 2,000 kilometers of county, township, and village roads have been widened from 2.5 meters to 4.5 meters. Today, Renshou's total road mileage reaches 3,596 kilometers, with rising graded-road coverage injecting continuous momentum into rural revitalization.

"Come to Baoma, walk the flower road!" exclaimed Liu Mei, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Baoma Town, referring to the newly upgraded "rainbow road." Originally a 5.6-kilometer industrial path in Hongshui Village, it was transformed through gradient reduction, curve adjustments, widening, and beautification—highlighted by a tricolor midline that turned it into a cycling and driving hotspot, boosting local tourism.
"Minor loop upgrades not only resolved dead-end roads but also eased travel and transport," said Hu Qiang, a Baoma Town official, noting plans to extend a 1.2-kilometer segment to link resources like ponds and greenbelts, creating a leisure fishing zone.
The expansion of livelihood roads bridges both geographic gaps and public aspirations. To relieve traffic pressure in Shijian, Outang, and Baoma towns, Renshou is upgrading the Longma-Shijian Road, benefiting 300,000 residents. In 2024, the county completed 2.8 billion yuan in fixed-asset investments, secured 216 million yuan in funding, installed 100,000 meters of guardrails, and saw postal services grow by 25.77%, with key projects frequently topping provincial commendation lists.
**"15th Five-Year" Vision: 70 Billion Yuan in Projects to Shape Future Landscape** Building on the 14th Five-Year Plan's foundation, Renshou is eyeing the 15th Five-Year period with over 30 reserved projects worth 70 billion yuan across railways, expressways, trunk roads, rural highways, low-altitude economy, green initiatives, and logistics parks.
Key plans include: advancing the S5 rail extension into national-provincial planning, promoting the Chengdu Outer Ring Railway, optimizing the Chengchi Expressway expansion, resuming the Renshou-Jianyang corridor, eliminating intercity "dead-end roads," and constructing a Renshou-Dongpo freight channel. Rural road upgrades aim to add 960 kilometers of graded highways in five years, further fueling rural revitalization.
"Roads solve transport needs, but they're also economic lifelines," noted Li Fei, underscoring Renshou's integrated planning of urban hubs, industrial zones, villages, and scenic areas for both efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
By 2026, Renshou targets three new projects, five ongoing, and six reserved, with 2.17 billion yuan in planned investments. Through policy leverage, land-fund safeguards, meticulous preparations, and stringent oversight, the county aims to launch the 15th Five-Year Plan strongly, laying a "runway" for high-quality growth.
By the 15th Five-Year Plan's end, Renshou expects total road mileage to hit 4,029 kilometers—291 km of expressways, 438 km of trunk roads, and 3,300 km of rural highways—unfolding a smoother, safer, smarter, and greener modern transport network.
