Liquor Market Update: Gujing Gongjiu 20 Leads Declines as Major Baijiu Brands' Aggregate Price Hits Four-Month Low for Fifth Consecutive Day

Deep News07-18

Data collected over the past 24 hours by the "Liquor Price Insider" shows the average terminal retail price for major premium baijiu products in China continued a slight overall decline on July 18th, persistently hitting new lows in the lower price range. If one bottle of each major product were combined for sale, the total price today would be 9,805 yuan, a minor decrease of 1 yuan from the previous day. This marks the seventh consecutive day of decline and the fifth straight day of setting the lowest level since March 22nd of this year. Across the market, the divergence in price movements among core products remains pronounced, while trading volume at the terminal remains largely stable, continuing the overall trend of weak, fluctuating, and downward price movement.

Today, among the eleven major baijiu products, five rose, five fell, and one remained unchanged. While the number of gainers and decliners was balanced, the magnitude of losses slightly outweighed the gains. On the upside, Qinghua Lang led the increases, rising 5 yuan per bottle to reclaim ground above the 690 yuan mark. Feitian Moutai, Wuliangye Pu Wu Eighth Generation, Qinghua Fen 20, and Yanghe Dream Blue M6+ all increased by 3 yuan per bottle. Among these, Feitian Moutai rose for a second consecutive day but remains near its lowest level in nearly four months. Following the iMoutai platform's retail price adjustment to 1,639 yuan per bottle, the premium over its official suggested price has narrowed to 79 yuan per bottle. Wuliangye Pu Wu Eighth Generation halted its rapid four-day decline with a minor recovery from its lowest level since "Liquor Price Insider" began tracking in November, though it remains below the 780 yuan threshold. Qinghua Fen 20 rose for a second day. Yanghe Dream Blue M6+ rebounded for a second day from its lowest point in nearly a month, moving closer to the 590 yuan mark. On the downside, Gujing Gongjiu 20 led the declines, falling 6 yuan per bottle. This marks its second consecutive day of losses, dropping below the 530 yuan mark and hitting its lowest level since July. Guojiao 1573 and Xijiu Junpin both fell by 4 yuan per bottle, with the latter once again falling below the 630 yuan mark. Premium Moutai and Wuliangye 1618 both declined by 2 yuan per bottle, with the latter again falling below the 820 yuan threshold. The price of Crystal Jiannanchun remained unchanged from the previous day.

Following the official launch of Feitian Moutai at 1,499 yuan per bottle on the iMoutai platform on New Year's Day (adjusted to 1,539 yuan on March 31st and again to 1,639 yuan on July 18th), and the launch of Premium Moutai at 2,299 yuan per bottle on January 9th (adjusted to 2,359 yuan on May 16th), the influence of this new channel on the terminal retail prices of these two products has gradually become more apparent. The daily liquor prices published by "Liquor Price Insider" adhere to a calculation rule weighted by actual transaction volume, and we have incorporated the quantifiable prices from this platform into the calculation of the terminal retail prices for these two products.

In significant industry news, Kweichow Moutai Co.,Ltd. announced last night that effective from 00:00 on July 18th, the retail price for Feitian 53%vol 500ml Kweichow Moutai (2026) on the iMoutai platform would be adjusted from 1,539 yuan per bottle to 1,639 yuan per bottle. The sales contract price would be adjusted from 1,269 yuan per bottle to 1,369 yuan per bottle, representing an increase of 100 yuan per bottle for both prices. The company stated that this price adjustment would have a certain impact on its operating performance. This marks the second time this year that Feitian Moutai's retail price on the iMoutai platform has been raised, following the first adjustment from 1,499 yuan to 1,539 yuan on March 31st, resulting in a cumulative increase of 140 yuan per bottle for the year. Based on today's "Liquor Price Insider" average terminal retail price of 1,718 yuan per bottle, the national average retail price for Feitian Moutai now carries a premium of 79 yuan per bottle over the iMoutai platform's latest official pricing.
