Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee Approves 2026 Local Government Debt Cap and Provincial Budget Adjustment Plan

A meeting of the 23rd session of the 14th Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee was convened.

During the session, members heard a briefing from the Provincial Finance Department, which, on behalf of the Provincial Government, presented and explained the draft proposal for the 2026 local government debt ceiling and provincial budget adjustment plan. The committee subsequently reviewed the draft plan submitted by the provincial government.

The session agreed with the findings of the review report issued by the Provincial People's Congress Financial and Economic Committee. Consequently, the decision was made to formally approve the 2026 local government debt ceiling and the corresponding provincial budget adjustment plan for Jiangsu Province.
