Recently, a consumer from Qingyuan, Guangdong, reported to a consumer complaint platform that a full gold fortune bag pendant purchased from a Chow Sang Sang store on January 5th showed scratches and white marks after just one day of wear. Suspecting the item's gold content, the consumer sent the pendant for independent testing, which revealed significant variations in gold purity across different points, with a maximum of 99.99% and a minimum of only 64.37%, alongside the detection of other metallic elements including iron, silver, and palladium. On February 3rd, Chow Sang Sang's official Weibo account released an initial statement indicating the company was treating the customer's feedback with high priority and actively conducting related work. Later that same evening, a follow-up statement was published: the company expressed full understanding of public concerns and, upon reviewing the destructive test report for the relevant production batch, affirmed the product's quality fully complied with national standards. Furthermore, on February 3rd, the company submitted an identical fortune bag from the same batch to the National Gemstone & Jewelry Testing Group Co., Ltd. (NGTC) for analysis using X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF). The NGTC report concluded the product was a full gold accessory, with random tests on three points showing gold contents of 99.99%, 99.99%, and 99.98%, respectively. Chow Sang Sang extended gratitude for public attention and supervision, confirming full cooperation with relevant authorities and promising timely updates on any developments.
