Bank of East Asia issues 4,000 new shares in June; public float comfortably above 25% threshold

For the month ended 30 June 2026, Bank of East Asia (BEA) increased its issued ordinary share capital by 4,000 shares to 2,644.18 million shares following the exercise of employee stock options under the 2021 Staff Share Option Scheme. No treasury shares were held or cancelled during the period.

The option exercise generated HKD 0.04 million in proceeds. Outstanding options now stand at 64.42 million—comprising 9.43 million options from the 2016 scheme and 54.99 million from the 2021 scheme—while the newly approved 2026 scheme provides capacity for up to 132.21 million additional share grants.

BEA confirmed that public float exceeded the Main Board’s minimum 25% requirement as at 30 June 2026.
