Amidst a sky ablaze with festive lights, the 2026 Zhangjiajie Lantern Festival drew over 380,000 visitors in March, with peak attendance exceeding 50,000. For this major annual cultural tourism event, Hunan Mobile's Zhangjiajie branch partnered with ZTE Corporation to comprehensively upgrade network support capabilities. Utilizing core technologies such as 5G-A three-carrier aggregation and intelligent fusion boards, they provided visitors with an exceptional network experience characterized by "no congestion, no dropped connections, and no lag."
As a nationally renowned large-scale cultural activity, the Lantern Festival received full support from Hunan Mobile's Zhangjiajie branch, achieving a breakthrough in network capability for 2026. In key areas including Huilong Road, People's Square, and Dayong Ancient Town, NR 2.6GHz (100MHz+60MHz) + NR 4.9GHz (100MHz) three-carrier aggregation was fully activated in advance. This increased network capacity in hotspot zones by over 130%, effortlessly handling simultaneous online connections from more than 50,000 users, activating the "5G-A" indicator and fully unleashing data traffic potential.
Building on hardware expansion, intelligent fusion boards were deployed to create a smart scheduling system centered on "users + services." Innovative techniques were introduced, such as profiling high-traffic demand users, real-time service identification, dynamic adjustment of network coverage for key users, KPI monitoring and evaluation, and 4G migration back to 5G. These measures strengthened intelligent network resource scheduling, further enhancing the user experience.
Total data traffic in the demonstration area for the day reached 59.1 TB, a 25.2% increase compared to the same period last year. The 5G traffic share rose from 82% in 2025 to nearly 90%. Average user upload and download speeds improved by over 65%, while video stuttering rates were reduced by 50%. Users enjoyed Gbps-level download speeds and hundred-megabit level upload speeds, enabling instant 4K video loading and smooth live streaming uploads.
With lanterns illuminating the ancient city and the network connecting countless households, Hunan Mobile's Zhangjiajie branch successfully completed the 2026 Lantern Festival network support mission. Through the powerful combination of 5G-A 3CC and intelligent fusion boards, the goal of "zero dropped connections and no lag" for all users and services was achieved. This marks a leap in network support from "basic connectivity assurance" to "premium experience," serving as another vivid example of the deep cooperation between Hunan Mobile and ZTE Corporation in continuously advancing 5G-A technology.
Moving forward, both parties will continue to deepen joint innovation, promoting 5G-A technology from "testing grounds" to "full-scenario" application and from "capability reserve" to "large-scale commercial use." This will provide users with an enhanced experience for a better digital life and inject stronger momentum into Hunan's digital economy development.
