27 New Majors Added to Vocational Education System for 2026 Enrollment

The Ministry of Education has completed the process of supplementing the Vocational Education Major Catalog for the year 2026, introducing a total of 27 new programs. This includes 9 vocational college programs and 18 vocational undergraduate programs.

The additions are strategically focused on key sectors such as the digital economy, low-altitude economy, artificial intelligence, high-end equipment, urban renewal, and areas with urgent public demand. For instance, in the producer services sector, new vocational undergraduate majors like technical brokerage services and low-altitude transport engineering technology have been established.

Within the consumer services sector, programs such as infant and toddler family nurturing and guidance, as well as health and wellness travel operation and management, have been added at the vocational college level.

Several new programs are specifically designed to align with national priority areas like the digital economy and green economy, directly connecting to newly recognized occupations and job roles in the national occupational classification system.

To address emerging professions such as robotics engineering technicians, new majors have been created, including humanoid robotics engineering technology, digital twin engineering technology, and vehicle-to-everything communication technology.

In the green energy sector, covering areas like hydrogen and energy storage, new programs have been established, such as hydrogen energy engineering technology at the vocational undergraduate level and intelligent operation and maintenance technology for energy storage material equipment at the vocational college level.

An official from the Ministry of Education stated that the supplement process heavily relied on industry-education integration communities and municipal-level industry-education consortiums. This approach ensures that genuine industry needs and core corporate demands directly inform the establishment of new academic programs.

Since the release of the Vocational Education Major Catalog in 2021, the vocational education system has been conducting regular annual supplements. This practice is aimed at continuously enhancing the alignment between the professional structure and the evolving demands of the industrial sector.
