Recent balance of payments data released on Wednesday shows that Japanese investors sold US sovereign bonds in February at the highest level in nearly four years. The net sales amounted to 2.77 trillion yen, marking the largest sell-off since June 2022. Japanese funds also sold French sovereign bonds for the fifth consecutive month. Meanwhile, their purchases of Italian sovereign bonds reached the highest level since September.
