Lufax Issues Profit Warning: Projects RMB1.30–1.70 Billion Q3 2026 Net Loss on Rising Credit Impairments and Tax Charges

Bulletin Express10-16 19:41

Lufax Holding Ltd (Lufax) expects to report a net loss of between RMB1.30 billion and RMB1.70 billion for the three months ended 30 September 2026, according to a profit-warning filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 16 October 2026. The anticipated deficit markedly widens from the RMB694 million net loss recorded for the first half of 2026.

Management attributes the projected deterioration to three principal factors:

1. Operating Performance • Higher credit-impairment losses are expected to push overall operations into a loss position for the quarter.

2. Deferred Tax Asset Reduction • A revised assessment of the financing-guarantee subsidiary’s business outlook will require recognition of additional tax expenses stemming from a reduction in deferred tax assets.

3. Dividend-Related Tax Expense • Following the redemption of An Ke Technology Convertible Promissory Notes and the accompanying shift in funding strategy, domestic subsidiaries plan to remit dividends to overseas units. This funding realignment is projected to generate further tax charges.

The figures are based on unaudited management accounts and may be updated when Lufax releases its full third-quarter 2026 results. The company’s audit committee and external auditors have not yet reviewed the numbers.

Shareholders and potential investors are advised to exercise caution when trading Lufax shares pending the formal results announcement.
