Dow Futures fell 0.54%, S&P 500 Futures fell 0.12%, Nasdaq Futures rose 0.10% as tech strength contrasted with broader caution.

United Microelectronics (UMC) gained 9.77%. Shares rallied after August revenue rose 30.71% year over year and year-to-date sales increased 14.66%.

Bloom Energy surged 7.95%. The stock advanced on confirmation it will join the S&P 500 on September 21, alongside renewed bullish analyst calls.

Intel climbed 3.66%. Reports indicated the company will raise PC CPU prices by about 10% in early October to prioritize margins.

Nokia gained 3.09%. Momentum built ahead of Euro STOXX 50 inclusion and after Morgan Stanley upgraded to Overweight with a target raised to EUR 6.5 from EUR 4.2.

Oracle advanced 2.76%. Sentiment improved ahead of September 10 earnings and after Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced a multi-year networking partnership supporting Oracle’s AI strategy.

Micron Technology (MU) rose 2.23%. The move followed reports highlighting its return above $1,000 and attention on its upcoming fiscal fourth-quarter results.

Baidu fell 4.51%. The stock retreated after Arete downgraded the shares to Neutral from Buy and set a $108 price target.

Chip stocks rose, with Lam Research rising 1.41%, ARM Holdings rising 1.32%.

Memory chip stocks rose, with Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM) rising 2.75%, SanDisk Corp. rising 2.7%, Western Digital rising 1.26%, Seagate Technology PLC (STX) rising 1.03%.

Among other individual movers, AXT Inc rose 4.28%, Vistra Energy Corp. (VST) rose 2.15%.
