The White House is concerned that the United Kingdom may be unable to fulfill its commitment to increase defense spending to 5% of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Officials have warned that some European allies made "false promises" initially to appease former President Donald Trump. These concerns arise as Andy Burnham is set to succeed Keir Starmer as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
