The inaugural Comprehensive Science and Technology Innovation Competition of Linzhang County, Handan City, Hebei Province, recently kicked off at Liuchaoyuan Middle School, attracting over 200 science enthusiasts from across the county to compete.
The competition features three major challenge categories: programming, drones, and creative design, encompassing events such as ICode programming space exploration missions, multi-rotor obstacle courses, flight simulation, and aerospace innovation. These events comprehensively assess participants' programming execution, equipment operation, and innovative design capabilities.
The event is divided into separate groups for primary school, middle school, high school, and adult participants, covering a wide range of age groups and providing a platform for science enthusiasts of all ages to showcase their talents and exchange ideas.
Outside the main venue, organizers simultaneously held supporting activities for the 2026 National Science Popularization Month in Linzhang County, setting up science display boards and showcasing robot models for students to observe and experience up close. Staff members explained the principles of artificial intelligence and robot construction, helping young people experience the appeal of technology and broaden their scientific horizons.
According to Wang Haifeng, Vice Chairman of the Linzhang County Association for Science and Technology, the county has been consistently promoting the deep integration of science education with formal schooling, supporting schools in offering robotics and programming courses, and leveraging platforms such as the "Science Popularization Vehicle" and "Mobile Science Museum" to deliver quality science resources to grassroots communities. Through the National Science Popularization Month and various technology competitions, intelligent technology is being brought closer to the public, enhancing the overall scientific literacy of the population.
