Stock News01-09

CNGR (02579) rose more than 6%, with a gain of 6.36% to HK$36.46 at the time of writing, and a turnover of HK$119 million.

On the news front, Indonesia's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, stated on Thursday that Indonesia will adjust its nickel production quotas based on industry demand, with reductions aimed at supporting the prices of Indonesian mineral products, and similar measures will be implemented to bolster nickel prices, although he did not disclose the quota level for 2026, only reiterating that adjustments will be made to meet the needs of local smelters.

According to a Guotai Junan Securities research report, CNGR continues to expand its global mineral resource footprint, currently possessing nearly 200,000 metric tons of nickel smelting capacity in Indonesia, over 10 million tons of lithium carbonate equivalent in Argentine salt lake lithium resources, and close to 100 million tons of phosphate rock resources.

Dongwu Securities previously pointed out that looking ahead to 2026, on the resource side, the firm expects CNGR to achieve self-supply of 30,000 metric tons of nickel metal, reaching a self-sufficiency ratio of over 25%, which could potentially increase profits by 200-300 million yuan; furthermore, even a slight rise in nickel metal prices would bring significant profit flexibility.
