Significant Fuel Price Hike Expected at Next Adjustment Window

Motorists should prepare for a substantial increase at the pump as domestic refined oil prices are set to undergo a new round of adjustments at 24:00 tomorrow (August 28). Projections indicate a significant surge, with the cost of filling a full tank potentially rising by more than 14 yuan.

Driven by the sustained uptrend in international crude oil prices, the expectation for an upward adjustment has been climbing steadily and has now entered a zone of significant increase. If this market trend persists, the upcoming adjustment will mark the 11th price hike for both 92# and 95# gasoline this year.

According to institutional forecasts, domestic gasoline and diesel prices are expected to rise by 360 yuan per ton. This translates to an increase of approximately 0.28 to 0.30 yuan per liter, meaning that filling a 50-liter tank will cost an additional 14 to 15 yuan.

Following the price reduction on August 14, 2026, a total of 16 adjustments have been completed this year. This includes one instance where adjustments were shelved, ten increases, and five decreases. However, on a cumulative basis for the year, gasoline prices have risen by 1,345 yuan per ton and diesel by 1,295 yuan per ton, representing a substantial cumulative increase of over 1.03 yuan per liter for both fuel types.
