On October 16, the Daju Linli commercial Wuxi headquarters project officially signed and landed in Heyi Subdistrict.
The project involves a total investment exceeding 100 million yuan and is expected to begin construction by the end of this year, with completion and operation slated for July next year. It aims to create an immersive new consumption destination blending specialty cuisine, sports and vitality, artistic enrichment, and healthy living.
In the first half of this year, the Xinxianghui Future Industrial Park also successively introduced brands including Gulu Lava-Filled Pizza, the first Wuxi store of Shangshu Yonghui, and Zhongnuo Dental Hospital, building a one-stop lifestyle service support system.
Notably, the Daju Linli and Xinxianghui projects are situated on the north and south sides of the Jianzhu Road ramp exit on the inner ring expressway.
The Heyi Subdistrict, a sub-city center, is pushing to build a "ramp consumption π" concept, transforming traditional traffic intersections into a consumption belt integrating dining, retail, and cultural tourism, converting passing traffic into lingering consumers and turning foot traffic into staying power.
As Wuxi's first urban expressway in history, the Wuxi Inner Ring spans approximately 30 kilometers, formed by the eastern section Tongjiang Avenue, the western section Qingqi Road elevated highway, Huishan Tunnel, and Fengxiang Road elevated highway, the northern section Jianghai Road elevated highway, and the southern section Jincheng Road elevated highway, creating a closed loop network. It serves to connect traffic flows from all directions across the city and is the core transportation backbone of the central urban area.
The western section, the Qingqi Road elevated highway, runs through the Heyi Subdistrict, a sub-city center, with two on-and-off ramps at Liangxi Road and Jianzhu Road from north to south.
With growing pedestrian and vehicle traffic, leveraging the passenger flow advantages of the transportation hub, a batch of commercial complexes integrating shopping, leisure, culture, and sports—including Daju Linli, Xinan Mansion, Xinxianghui, Binhu Wanda, and Wuxi New Sports Center—are clustering along the ramps, and a consumption belt is rapidly taking shape.
Accelerating Layout: Daju, Xinxianghui, Xinan Mansion—A Commercial Matrix Linked Like Beads on a String
The newly signed Daju Linli commercial Wuxi headquarters project is located at 398 Jianzhu Road, immediately east of the Jianzhu Road ramp exit on the Qingqi Road elevated highway. It is being converted from the former Datonghua Supermarket, with a building area of approximately 15,000 square meters and a permanent population of 93,300 within a one-kilometer radius.
Daju Linli originates from Shanghai Huibai, which specializes in revitalizing and operating existing commercial properties in the Yangtze River Delta, focusing on renovating old commercial spaces. Leveraging the locational advantages of the Heyi sub-city center, the project will upgrade around three directions—spatial restructuring, business format upgrading, and community coexistence—to remake this old commercial district into a warm community third space.
Daju Linli is just one example of Heyi Subdistrict developing ramp-side commerce and creating new consumption scenarios. Along the two ramps at Jianzhu Road and Liangxi Road on the Qingqi Road elevated highway, a batch of high-quality cultural, commercial, sports, and tourism integrated destinations have successively landed, continuously activating consumption in the sub-city center.
Directly across from Daju Linli is Xinan Mansion, located in the core commercial area of Heyi. About 500 meters long, it is a Shanghai-style commercial street with its own distinctive character. Boutique businesses such as cinemas, supermarkets, restaurants, and fitness centers line the street, with peak daily foot traffic reaching 5,000 people, making it a key venue for Binhu's night economy.
Next to Xinan Mansion is the Xinxianghui Future Industrial Park, a vertical industry-city landmark built by Heyi Subdistrict. The park has a total building area of 73,000 square meters, including 33,600 square meters of science and innovation space. Officially delivered in January 2025, it not only gathers a number of tech innovation enterprises but also supports chain restaurants and lifestyle service brands including Zhongnuo Dental Jiangsu General Hospital and Gulu Lava-Filled Pizza, achieving a work-upstairs-live-downstairs industry-city coexistence.
Looking north, beside the Liangxi Road ramp exit on the Qingqi Road elevated highway, Binhu Wanda Plaza is a full-format urban complex integrating a shopping center, a five-star hotel, smart office buildings, high-quality residences, furnished apartments, and distinctive street-front shops. It creates a one-stop lifestyle circle covering shopping, dining, fitness, leisure, entertainment, and office needs, satisfying the comprehensive demands of residents.
Renewal and Upgrading: Old Commercial Districts Transformed, Existing Spaces Unleashing New Momentum
While new projects accelerate, existing mature commercial properties are also being renewed and upgraded in tandem. According to reports, the Daju Linli project, converted from the Datonghua Supermarket, is divided into four floors, each with its own focus.
Floor 1 features "everyday life," introducing a regional fresh supermarket as a traffic engine, interspersed with boutique coffee and bakery leisure businesses, and setting up convenience service stations offering minor repairs and social spaces.
Floor 2 features "gathering and dining," bringing in must-eat-list restaurants with strong market appeal, regional first stores, and specialty taverns, creating a dining cluster blending Shanghai style with international cuisine.
Floor 3 focuses on "parent-child growth," planning children's art training, physical fitness, skin care, yoga, and dance businesses, building a one-stop parent-child education and women's self-care space.
Floor 4 features "trendy entertainment," introducing popular e-sports internet cafes, billiard clubs, indoor simulated golf, and other diverse entertainment formats, creating an all-weather immersive leisure and social venue that encourages young customers to stay and play longer.
If Daju Linli represents the renewal of community commerce, Canal Bund showcases the collision and coexistence of industrial heritage and trendy consumption. The former industrial site of the Rong family's Kaiyuan Machinery Factory has transformed into the Canal Bund trendy cultural district. It has successfully hosted Burberry's international fashion show and regularly stages high-quality events such as art exhibitions, fashion galas, cultural creative markets, and cultural salons, with annual foot traffic exceeding 2.65 million, continuously demonstrating the integrated effect of culture, commerce, and tourism.
The southern Jianzhu Road ramp focuses on cultural, commercial, and tourism integration, while the northern Liangxi Road ramp excels in retail. At the end of last year, Binhu Wanda upgraded its business formats, introducing the first Binhu store of Aldi supermarket—the brand's fourth store in Wuxi. With its precise positioning as an affordable community supermarket, rich private-label products, and multiple opening promotions, the store attracted a large number of residents upon debut, activating consumption vitality in the sub-city center commercial area and making Wanda Plaza an important engine for driving local consumption upgrading and enhancing the city's commercial level.
Consumption Linkage: Deep Integration of Culture, Commerce, Sports, and Tourism, Events and Performances Drawing Crowds
Beyond individual layouts and single-property renewals, the key to ramp-side commerce lies in mutual linkage and traffic diversion. During the National Day holiday, Heyi Subdistrict leveraged its neighborhood strengths, injecting the "Taihu π" service brand and creating the "Xinan Mansion·Sea π Life Festival" distinctive IP, linking restaurants, cinemas, hotels, fitness, and other full-format merchants to offer consumption benefits. Youth-oriented neighborhood activities provided vivid examples of holiday cultural tourism consumption upgrading.
During the "Su Super League" matches, the district innovatively launched a "market + match viewing" consumption scenario, simultaneously promoting the "ticket stub economy." Driven by the "watch + consume" model, daily consumption exceeded 300,000 yuan.
Located west of the Jianzhu Road ramp exit on the Qingqi Road elevated highway, Wuxi New Sports Center is the largest and most capable cultural and sports landmark in the area, and the core venue for hosting large concerts, music festivals, and sports events. This year, events including the 2026 Yuki Hsu Light It Up tour concert, the final stop of Luo Tianyi's "Infinite Resonance·Flowing Light Concerto" holographic tour concert, and the 2026 Jiangsu Provincial City Basketball League were all held here.
According to reports, during large concerts and events, many audience members and tourists tend to check in early and leave late, driving Binhu's cultural tourism to shift from single-day round trips to deep overnight stays, and boosting dining, shopping, accommodation, and leisure consumption at commercial properties such as Xinan Mansion, Xinxianghui, and Binhu Wanda.
Currently, Binhu is building the "Taihu π" service brand. According to the "Three-Year Action Plan for Service Industry Renewal and Quality Enhancement in Binhu District (2026–2028)," Binhu will construct a "one core, two corridors, three zones" spatial pattern. As an important part of the "three zones," Heyi Subdistrict will closely follow its "sub-city center" positioning, build a vibrant business and commerce zone, and carry urban economy and high-end commercial functions.
In developing ramp-side commerce, Heyi will upgrade mature commercial areas such as Wanda and Canal Bund, and target high-end shopping centers and internationally renowned hotels. At the same time, focusing on Wanda commercial area's first-store economy, Canal Bund's cultural-commercial-tourism integration, Qingshan Bay's outdoor economy, Xinan Mansion's event night economy, and Daoxiang Market's everyday economy, it will create the Heyi "one bay, five scenes" consumption map, continuously activating consumption vitality in the sub-city center.
