The China Light Industry Council has announced the revocation of the third batch of "Chinese Brewing Master" titles, a decision that affects 41 industry professionals previously honored in 2021.
In an official statement, the council said the move was made to strictly comply with relevant regulations and standardize industry practices. Following a self-review and deliberation, it was decided to cancel the titles jointly awarded with the China Alcoholic Drinks Association. All individuals and organizations involved are now prohibited from using these titles in any promotional or publicity activities.
The third-cycle "Chinese Brewing Master" recognition was originally conducted in 2021, described at the time as an industry-wide, enterprise-level, and non-social honor. Certificates were issued to the 41 recipients in 2023 in response to requests from participating companies.
Among those affected are Zhang Yuhang from Hengshui Laobaigan Liquor Group, Wang Li and Wan Bo from Kweichow Moutai Group, Liu Miao from Luzhou Laojiao, and Wang Fengxian from Shanxi Xinghuacun Fen Wine Factory.
The full list of revoked honorees also includes representatives from major distilleries across China. Yu Qingquan from COFCO Great Wall Wine, Wang Fang from Sino-French Dynasty Winery, Wang Kequi from Shaanxi Xifeng Liquor, and Yin Hua from Tsingtao Brewery are all named in the announcement.
Other notable recipients include Liu Ming from Wuliangye Yibin, Liu Yueqin from China Resources Snow Breweries, Liu Yuancai from Jing Brand, and Li Shaoliang from Henan Songhe Liquor. Yang Bo from Shanxi Xinghuacun Fenjiu Group, Wu Shengwen from Site Special Liquor, and Wu Jianfeng from Jiangsu Jinshiyuan are also included.
The list extends to He Cheng from Luzhou Laojiao, Shen Yi from Sichuan Langjiu, Song Kewei from Beijing Shunxin Agriculture Niulanshan Distillery, Zhang Kun from Beijing Red Star, Zhang Jialin from Jiangsu Tanggou, and Zhang Fengguo from Shandong Bandaojing.
Completing the roster are Mao Laigen from Zhejiang Tapai Shaoxing Wine, Zhou Xinhu from Jiangsu Yanghe Distillery, Pang Weizhen from Budweiser China, Xiang Xingben from Anhui Yingjia Gongjiu, Zhao Deyi from Shandong Jingzhi Liquor, and Zhong Yu from Jiangsu Yanghe.
Additionally, Zhong Fangda from Guizhou Moutai Group, Hou Jianguang from Henan Yangshao, Yu Huiming from Ningxia Hengxin Xixia King Wine, Jia Fengchao from Beijing Yanjing Brewery, Xu Nan from Tsingtao Brewery, Xu Yuezheng from Zhejiang Guyuelongshan Shaoxing Wine, Xu Qinxiang from Anhui Kouzi Liquor, Xu Zijing from Sichuan Jiannanchun Group, Huang Tingming from Jiangsu Zhangjiagang Brewing, Cao Hongying from Sichuan Yibin Wuliangye Group, Liang Jinhui from Anhui Gujing Gongjiu, Fu Zukang from Kuaijishan Shaoxing Wine, and Lei Zhenhe from Shanxi Xinghuacun Fenjiu Group Development Zone were all stripped of their titles.
