The inaugural operation of MaoMing City's first batch of hydrogen fuel cell buses was successfully launched at the bus station in the north square of MaoMing Railway Station. The hydrogen buses, equipped with Tianneng Hydrogen Energy's Chenxing-T80 fuel cell system, have been officially delivered and put into service, injecting new hydrogen energy momentum into the green transportation development of cities in western Guangdong.
MaoMing Municipal Government Vice Mayor, Dianbai District Party Secretary, High-Tech Zone Party Working Committee Secretary, and Transportation Group Leader of the Provincial Games (Paralympic Games) Preparatory Committee, Gao Xueshan, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. He stated that the deployment of these hydrogen buses marks a significant milestone in MaoMing's efforts to promote low-carbon transformation in transportation. The city will use this as a pivot to continuously expand the application scale of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, improve the green transportation system, and empower regional high-quality development with the hydrogen energy industry.
The delivered bus models were custom-built by Chery Wanda to precisely suit various passenger transport scenarios in MaoMing, including urban commuting, urban-rural connections, and inter-town travel. The vehicles are equipped with Tianneng Hydrogen Energy's flagship product—the Chenxing-T80 fuel cell system. The Chenxing-T80 system has already been deployed in batch demonstration operations across multiple regions including Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Guangdong. Having undergone real-world vehicle validation in diverse areas, its market maturity and reliability are widely recognized.
Key Advantages of the Hydrogen Bus Fleet
This batch of hydrogen buses offers distinct advantages. A full hydrogen refueling takes only 15 minutes, significantly reducing vehicle downtime for energy replenishment compared to the hours required to charge a pure electric bus. During peak operation periods, they can seamlessly connect multiple shifts, effectively extending daily operational hours, markedly improving bus turnover efficiency, and substantially reducing scheduling and operational capacity loss costs for operators.
Robust System Performance
The Chenxing-T80 system's robust performance is fully suited to China's complex road and climate conditions. With a rated power of 80kW, it operates stably across a wide temperature range from -30°C to 45°C. The system is designed with a service life of 20,000 hours, capable of providing long-term, stable support for high-frequency bus operations.
Strategic Significance for Regional Development
The implementation of the MaoMing project represents another significant achievement for Tianneng Hydrogen Energy in the demonstration and application of hydrogen energy transportation within the Guangdong region. Looking ahead, Tianneng Hydrogen Energy will continue to iterate its Chenxing series of fuel cell systems, deepen collaborative cooperation with upstream and downstream enterprises, and expand deployment across diverse scenarios including urban public transport, passenger transport, logistics, shipping, and two-wheeled vehicles. This aims to assist more cities across the nation in building a clean, efficient, and sustainable hydrogen energy industry system.
