The "Sina Finance 2025 Annual Conference and the 18th Golden Kylin Forum" was held in Beijing on January 15, 2026, with the theme of "The Start of the 15th Five-Year Plan, A New Economic Voyage - Reshaping Growth Paradigms, Co-creating Future Prosperity." Liu Shuwei, a researcher at the Chinese Enterprise Research Center of the Central University of Finance and Economics, attended and delivered a speech.
Liu Shuwei mentioned that, as a university professor, her primary concern currently is the issue of graduate employment. She emphasized that the problem must be solved at its source, focusing on how to guarantee that 100% of university graduates have jobs.
She introduced that she is a director of the He Ren Foundation. Cao Dewang, founder of Fuyao Glass Industry Group Co., Ltd., donated his assets to the He Ren Foundation, which then allocated them to Fuyao University of Science and Technology. The first intake of Fuyao University of Science and Technology enrolled 50 students. In addition to studying foundational courses, these 50 students also participated in research projects at major corporations.
Liu Shuwei stated that due to the influence of President Wang Shuguo and Mr. Cao Dewang, major corporations sought cooperation with Fuyao University of Science and Technology as soon as it opened. Consequently, the university now has a vast number of cooperative projects, and all 50 students have already been pre-booked by these large companies.
"Much of the knowledge currently taught in universities is outdated because knowledge updates too rapidly. Students who enter university through exam-oriented education, and are then trained using similarly poor exam-oriented methods, often lack strong adaptability and practical skills upon graduation," she noted. However, she highlighted that students at Fuyao University of Science and Technology are different; from the moment they enter, they understand what they need to learn through the research process and are exceptionally hardworking.
"Because when Mr. Cao Dewang established Fuyao University of Science and Technology, he stated that the university should be run like an enterprise, so the issue of job assignment for graduates does not exist," she said. In 2026, Fuyao University of Science and Technology plans to enroll 100 students. Liu Shuwei suggested, "If parents are responsible for their children, they should encourage them to apply to research-oriented universities like Fuyao University of Science and Technology."
