Tesla Generates $573 Million in Revenue from SpaceX and xAI Last Year

Deep News08:04

Tesla disclosed in a revised annual filing that it earned over $500 million last year by selling products to two other companies owned by Elon Musk. The automaker initially reported in January that the majority of this revenue, approximately $430.1 million, came from business dealings with Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI. In an updated filing submitted on Thursday, Tesla added that it also recorded $143.3 million in revenue from SpaceX, the privately-held aerospace company controlled by Musk. This latter amount was not included in the initial annual report released in January. Earlier this month, media reports indicated that SpaceX purchased over $100 million worth of Cybertrucks—Tesla's electric pickup truck with sluggish sales—in the fourth quarter of last year.
