In the 15th episode of "Luo Yonghao's Crossroads," Insta360 founder Liu Jingkang discussed the company's product development journey.
Liu mentioned that Insta360 drew inspiration from GoPro's marketing strategy, which leverages user-generated videos to showcase product capabilities. He credited the Insta360 ONE as the breakthrough product that propelled the company's success.
When asked about past quality control challenges, Liu recalled a modular camera launched in early 2020. "At the time, we wanted to combine panoramic capabilities with GoPro-style wide-angle features, so we developed a camera with interchangeable lenses. However, due to the rush to debut at CES, reliability issues emerged post-launch, including connection instability and lens fogging."
Reflecting on the experience, Liu emphasized the lesson learned: companies should avoid rushing products to market prematurely.
