COUNTRY GARDEN Shares Surge Over 10% in Late Trading as High Court Dismisses Liquidation Petition

COUNTRY GARDEN (02007) saw its shares rise more than 10% in late trading. At the time of writing, the stock was up 8.62%, trading at HKD 0.315 with a turnover of HKD 92.84 million. The movement follows the company's recent announcement that the liquidation petition filed against it has been dismissed by the Hong Kong High Court. Following the effectiveness of its restructuring on December 30, 2025, COUNTRY GARDEN distributed approximately USD 398 million in cash consideration to creditors during the first working week, representing about 2% of the principal amount of the restructured debt. It was reported that on December 4, 2025, COUNTRY GARDEN's approximately USD 17.7 billion offshore debt restructuring plan received formal approval from the Hong Kong High Court. According to the announcement, assuming full subscription of all options under the offshore restructuring plan, the company expects to reduce its debt by approximately USD 11.7 billion upon completion, corresponding to about RMB 84 billion in interest-bearing debt. Furthermore, upon completion of the offshore debt restructuring, COUNTRY GARDEN anticipates recognizing a maximum restructuring gain of approximately RMB 70 billion.
