KINGBOARD HLDG (00148) shares plummeted 5.09% in intraday trading on Monday, as selling pressure intensified across the Kingboard group.
The steep decline reflects the persistent overhang from large-scale shareholder disposals, with major shareholders having cashed out a conservatively estimated HKD 200 billion-plus this year. A notable transaction involved a wholly-owned subsidiary of KINGBOARD HLDG placing 155 million shares of KB LAMINATES at HKD 76 per share, netting approximately HKD 11.78 billion. The continued unwinding of positions, combined with a broader pullback in the electronic components sector, has overwhelmed the stock despite the company's earlier profit alert projecting first-half net profit to exceed HKD 2.7 billion and a surge of over 200% in its laminate segment profit.
Subsidiary KB LAMINATES also faced significant declines, falling more than 5% during the session, underscoring the group-wide pressure from the disposals and sector headwinds.
