On October 14, Kazunori Yamauchi, producer of the Gran Turismo 7 series, revealed on social media that GT7 will welcome the first part of its Spec IV update tomorrow, October 15, and the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo will officially join the lineup as a new model, allowing players worldwide to drive a Chinese concept supercar on a virtual track for the first time.

The Vision Gran Turismo project began in 2013 and operates by invitation only. Only global automakers with proven performance and technical credentials can be invited to take part. By early 2026, the project had welcomed 36 brands and 51 concept cars, with Xiaomi Corp. (OTC: XIACY) as the 36th brand to join, the first invited Chinese brand, and the world's first technology company to participate.

Previously, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra was launched in January 2026 as the first production model from a Chinese brand in the GT series. In less than a year, Xiaomi has completed a triple rollout on the GT platform: a production car, a concept car, and an EV educational module.

Xiaomi officially made clear that the Vision GT is a concept car built specifically for the GT platform and will not enter production, so its specifications are not constrained by production regulations, engineering costs, or safety certification.

Data announced by Xiaomi China at the Singapore GT World Series event on October 3 shows that the car is built on a 900V silicon carbide high-voltage platform, with four motors and four-wheel drive, combined output of about 1,360 horsepower, 0-100 km/h acceleration in the 1-second range, and a top speed of more than 350 km/h. It is equipped with a track-grade battery and a full-domain thermal management system, and a 10-minute fast charge can add 500 kilometers of range.

In terms of design philosophy, Xiaomi summarizes it as "shaped by wind." Chief designer Li Tianyuan said the team did not rely on additional aerodynamic kits to achieve its performance goals.

This site previously reported that the Xiaomi Vision GT would join Gran Turismo 7 in October.
