The People's Government of Guangdong Province has issued the "14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of Guangdong Province." The document emphasizes the need to cultivate emerging pillar industries. It calls for the implementation of industrial innovation projects, optimizing the organizational models for strategic product and technological innovation, and advancing the construction of innovation facilities, technological R&D, and product upgrades in an integrated manner.

The plan aims to expand and strengthen emerging industries, including new energy, new materials, intelligent connected vehicles, smart robotics, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, aerospace, integrated circuits, the low-altitude economy, and biomanufacturing. The goal is to nurture more emerging pillar industries and develop additional industrial clusters with output values reaching trillions or hundreds of billions of yuan.

Leveraging the synergies between mechatronics and hardware-software integration, the province will focus on developing strategic products such as computing chips, solid-state batteries, and innovative pharmaceuticals and medical devices. It will also steadily advance technological innovation in intelligent driving to foster new drivers of growth and enhance competitive advantages.
