Known as "Forest Gold," Sanghuang is a medicinal and edible fungus with effects such as dispersing nodules and softening hardness, as well as protecting and nourishing the liver. In March of this year, Tangxing Village in Huating Town introduced "Husang No. 2" from the Sanghuang family. Recently, "Husang No. 2" welcomed its second harvest, with both yield and quality showing significant improvement compared with the first harvest.
On the morning of October 16, experts from the Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences came to the Sanghuang cultivation warehouse in Tangxing Village to "diagnose and consult," carefully inspecting the growth of Sanghuang, guiding cultivation, and taking samples on site. "This batch of Sanghuang has bright color, plump shape, and excellent quality. For the subsequent control of temperature and humidity, the parameters of this harvest can continue to be used, and at the same time, personnel entry and exit management should be well controlled to prevent Sanghuang contamination," said Yang Yan, director of the Processing Technology and Fermentation Engineering Research Office of the Edible (Medicinal) Fungi Research Center of the Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences and chief scientist of the academy's Food Nutrition and Health Research Center. She stated that this field inspection, in addition to guiding field cultivation, also involved sampling as an important task. "We will bring the harvested Sanghuang samples back to the laboratory to further monitor changes in metabolic components throughout the entire growth cycle of Sanghuang. It is expected that a full industry chain standard for Sanghuang will be issued next year, so that cultivation and production will have regulations to follow," Yang Yan said.
It is understood that Sanghuang is rich in various nutritional components such as polysaccharides, flavonoids, and triterpenes. It has high requirements for the growing environment and prefers high-humidity conditions. The intelligent constant-temperature and constant-humidity cultivation warehouse introduced by Tangxing Village can precisely regulate environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity, achieve scientific and standardized cultivation, and ensure quality and yield from the source. At present, the second harvest of Sanghuang in Tangxing Village is expected to yield 1,180 pieces, with a single piece weighing 60 to 80 grams, and the yield is about 20% higher than the first harvest. After slicing and drying, Sanghuang sells for 8 yuan per gram, offering relatively good economic value. Going forward, under the guidance of agricultural technical experts at the municipal and district levels, Tangxing Village will further optimize the management of the cultivation environment, improve product quality, and at the same time provide guidance for production and sales services, broaden sales channels, and help increase production and income in the Sanghuang industry.
