Deep News08-11

Based on data from the Central Meteorological Observatory, the center of Typhoon "White Dolphin," a strong typhoon, made landfall in Zhejiang around 5:30 PM on August 9. This event triggered widespread heavy rainfall across coastal areas of East China.

The National Financial Regulatory Administration has prioritized this situation, directing local regulatory bodies, including those in Zhejiang, to quickly activate emergency response protocols. The insurance industry has been instructed to open green channels and provide proactive, front-line services, collaborating with local party committees, governments, and relevant departments on early warning, rescue, and insurance claims processing.

As of noon on August 11, insurance institutions in five regions—Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, and Ningbo—had received nearly 100,000 claims reports, with estimated losses of 1.2 billion yuan. Payments, including advance payments, have reached 34.09 million yuan.

Since the start of the flood season, the National Financial Regulatory Administration has consistently guided local financial regulatory bodies and the insurance industry to strengthen their sense of responsibility, promoting effective financial services for flood prevention and disaster relief. As of noon on August 11, in response to major natural disasters such as heavy rainfall, typhoons, earthquakes, and mountain torrents in multiple regions, the insurance industry across 22 provinces, including Guangxi, has received a total of 670,000 claims reports, with estimated losses of 13.2 billion yuan. Payments made amount to 7.6 billion yuan, representing a compensation progress rate of 57%, which has effectively compensated for losses from major natural disasters.
