On the morning of October 16, the Nonferrous Metals Sub-forum of the 2026 Shanghai Derivatives Market Forum was held at the Shanghai Futures Exchange. With the theme of "Strengthening Futures-Spot Linkage to Safeguard High-Quality Development of Nonferrous Metals," the forum focused on the deep integration of the nonferrous metals industry and the derivatives market, and held in-depth discussions on topics including the industry's operating situation and outlook, demand changes driven by new quality productive forces, corporate hedging practices, and the integrated development of futures and spot markets.
Chen Xuesen, Vice President of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, attended the forum and delivered a speech. Chen Xuesen said that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the nonferrous metals industry achieved remarkable high-quality development results and operated well, with the average annual growth rate of output of ten types of nonferrous metals reaching 5%, and profits increasing from an annual average of 268.24 billion yuan during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period to an annual average of 432.88 billion yuan during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.
