Boeing Directs Suppliers to Assess Impact of Middle East Conflict on Operations

Deep News08:20

According to a message to suppliers seen by media, American aircraft manufacturer Boeing has requested that its partners evaluate any effects on production stemming from the US and Israel's conflict with Iran. In a recent online notice to suppliers, Boeing asked its collaborators on commercial aircraft programs to detail, by March 9, any work being conducted in the Middle East region—including activities performed by sub-suppliers—and any operational impacts experienced. "As we continue to monitor the situation in the Middle East, we are assessing the potential implications for supply chain stability," the notice stated. A supply chain executive indicated that if the conflict persists for more than a few weeks, disruptions to shipping and air transport—key global transit hubs are located in the region—could also affect Boeing's European rival, Airbus. An Airbus spokesperson said the company remains in close communication with its customers and suppliers in the area.
