China's industrial power generation reached 802.5 billion kilowatt-hours in March, up 1.4% compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics. The growth rate slowed by 2.7 percentage points from the January–February period. Average daily power generation stood at 25.89 billion kWh. For the first quarter of the year, total industrial power generation amounted to 2,378.2 billion kWh, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 3.4%. By energy source, thermal power, hydropower, and solar power generation accelerated in March, while nuclear and wind power shifted from growth to decline. Specifically, thermal power generation rose 4.2% year-on-year, accelerating by 0.9 percentage points from the January–February period. Hydropower generation increased by 10.8%, with growth picking up by 4.0 percentage points. Nuclear power generation fell by 11.8%, reversing a 0.8% increase recorded in the first two months. Wind power generation dropped 17.3%, compared to a 5.3% rise in January–February. Solar power generation grew 10.0%, edging up 0.1 percentage points from the previous period.
