Deep News11-26

On the afternoon of November 21, the annual meeting of the International Laser Class Association (ILCA) World Council concluded at Qinhuangdao’s Blue Coast, a project under SINO-OCEAN GP. During the event, ILCA Asia, the Qinhuangdao Sports Bureau, the Beidaihe New District Management Committee, and Qinhuangdao SINO-OCEAN Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation framework agreement, officially announcing the establishment of the "ILCA Asia Qinhuangdao Sailing Training Center" at Blue Coast. This milestone marks a significant breakthrough in Blue Coast’s "events + tourism + research" model and injects fresh momentum into the region’s integrated sports, culture, and tourism development.

As the IOC-recognized governing body for Laser-class sailing, ILCA sets global competition rules, technical standards, and equipment certifications. The hosting of ILCA’s annual World Council meeting in Qinhuangdao for the first time, along with the successful signing of the training center project, underscores international sailing communities’ high regard for Blue Coast’s natural conditions, infrastructure, and event management capabilities.

Under the agreement, the parties will leverage their respective strengths to collaborate comprehensively in project promotion, venue operations, event organization, and talent development, aiming to establish Qinhuangdao as a globally renowned destination for sailing training, competitions, education, and sports. The center will also provide a professional training platform for ILCA athletes across Asia, systematically elevate coaching standards, and refine youth talent development systems, further energizing the region’s sailing industry.

From hosting the China Sailing Association’s Northern Headquarters to the ILCA Asia Training Center, Blue Coast has long championed the deep integration of sailing with sports, culture, and tourism. Having successfully organized over 20 high-profile domestic and international sailing events, it has accumulated extensive operational expertise. With the upcoming 2025 ILCA Asian Championships, Blue Coast’s global influence and brand stature are set to rise further. Moving forward, Blue Coast will continue using sailing as a catalyst to build an industrial ecosystem combining culture, tourism, research, and event-driven growth, fostering sustainable regional development and setting a new international benchmark for integrated sports-tourism excellence.
