Expansion and Upgrading: Uncovering New Economic Drivers Through Consumer Spending Patterns

Deep News08-13

China's first national-level specialized plan for the consumer sector, the "Expanding Consumption 15th Five-Year Plan" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), has been released. It outlines the development vision, key objectives, main tasks, and policy measures for the consumer sector during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

The Plan sets a clear target: achieving total retail sales of consumer goods of approximately 60 trillion yuan by 2030. With the goal established, the question arises of how to realize this incremental growth. The answers can be found by examining consumer spending receipts.

A shift is underway from purchasing goods to enjoying services, and from having disposable income to seeking value for money. As consumption patterns evolve, the quality of life is being elevated.
