An explosion and fire occurred on the LNG-fueled hybrid container ship "Yi Hang Ming Yuan" while it was docking at berth A101 of Yangluo Port at 5:30 a.m. on July 22, according to information obtained from Hubei Port Group Co., Ltd. A loud blast was heard from the vessel's rear compartment, followed by a fire and the overboard loss of several containers.
Preliminary reports indicate that seven empty containers fell into the water, and one crew member is currently unaccounted for.
