With just 30 days remaining until the grand opening on September 15th, the organizer of the 140th Canton Fair, the China Foreign Trade Centre, has rolled out a series of novel measures and attractions that underscore its embrace of cutting-edge technology and smart upgrades.
This edition will again feature a dedicated service robotics zone in Hall 21.2 of the Friendship Hall in Area D, expanding to a substantial 4,200 square meters. Leveraging China's robust domestic robotics supply chain, the zone is designed to meet global demand for intelligent services, bringing together leading innovators, advanced tech breakthroughs, and diverse application scenarios to attract international buyers and explore new horizons in intelligent manufacturing.
In the realm of embodied intelligent robots, visitors will see products showcasing the latest technological leaps, such as a humanoid robot with the world's strongest explosive power, a dexterous hand featuring the globe's first dual-modal "tactile plus visual" end-effector, and the country's first industry-grade all-terrain wheeled-legged robot. For specialized operations, the fair will display products like intelligent spherical inspection robots, live-line connection robots, and underwater propulsion robots. For example, an amphibious "special iron ball" can withstand impacts of up to 4 tons, easily tackling heavy rain, typhoons, and large waves.
For diverse public services, the zone will feature commercial service robots, curtain-wall cleaning robots, and robotic coffee kiosks. Among them, a humanoid robot supporting hot-swappable batteries offers a 10-hour continuous runtime, making it ideal for roles like mall navigation and front-desk reception. In the smart home sector, exhibits will include exoskeleton walking aids, intelligent lawn mowing robots, and home education robots.
On the service front, the 140th Canton Fair is introducing an overseas buyer membership program for the first time. This service requires no separate application or review; any buyer who has registered or holds a Canton Fair overseas buyer account automatically becomes a member. Membership tiers are determined by accumulated points, and once upgraded, the status is permanent. Buyers can earn points by attending the fair in person, completing pre-registration, perfecting their profiles, and participating in events. These points serve dual purposes: they help advance membership levels and can be redeemed for benefits. Higher-tier members enjoy more perks, which are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
This edition also introduces the upgraded "Canton Fair Golden Gift Pack 2.0," a collaboration with 11 financial institutions offering a one-stop suite of services across five areas: risk management, financing, cross-border operations, settlement, and value-added services. A dedicated electronic financial handbook allows products to be accessed anytime, and financial needs can be addressed instantly via QR code.
The fair has established a "9+2+5" financial services framework, building on support from nine major banks like Bank of China and ICBC, and adding two new policy-oriented institutions: the Export-Import Bank of China and China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation. This expansion strengthens the risk management services segment to support businesses going global. Specific offerings include risk control products such as short-term export trade insurance and overseas investment insurance; tools like forward foreign exchange settlement, options, and hedging to lock in exchange rates early; and professional services including country-specific risk analysis and credit reference reports. Additionally, the fair has launched a "Financial Services Electronic Handbook" complete with a demand submission portal, enabling users to quickly find the right products and easily express their needs at the touch of a button.
