Following the launch event for the XPeng GX model, XPeng Group Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng, along with Liu Xianming, head of the XPeng Group's General Intelligence Center, and Wu Anfei, General Manager of XPeng Group's Product Matrix, held a discussion with the media.
Tesla's official social media account recently announced the latest deployment plans for its supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) system, noting that the supervised version of FSD will be available for use in China.
Addressing this development, Liu Xianming, head of the XPeng Group's General Intelligence Center, stated that Tesla's FSD entering the Chinese market is a positive development. He believes it will foster healthy competition and drive industry progress, and that XPeng welcomes such high-level comparisons. Compared to Tesla's FSD, Liu highlighted XPeng's advantages in adapting to localized driving scenarios in China, accumulating local data, and optimizing local computing power, which enable it to address road conditions unique to China. He acknowledged that Tesla holds advantages in certain technical areas and expressed that both companies will mutually benefit and advance through competition, working alongside domestic peers to propel the industry forward.
