On October 17, Goertek Inc. announced the termination of its planned acquisition of two wholly-owned subsidiaries of Luen Fung Commercial Holdings Limited, namely Mega Precision Technology Limited and Channel Well Industrial Limited. In the announcement, Goertek explained that despite actively advancing due diligence, auditing, and evaluation, along with multiple rounds of communication and negotiation with the counterpart, both parties ultimately "failed to reach a consensus on key terms related to the transaction," leading to the decision to terminate the acquisition. This acquisition was initially disclosed on the evening of July 22, 2025. At that time, Goertek stated that it had reached a preliminary agreement with Luen Fung Commercial Holdings to acquire 100% stakes in its subsidiaries for approximately HKD 10.4 billion (about RMB 9.5 billion) using its own or self-raised funds. Goertek emphasized that the acquisition aimed to enhance the company’s overall competitiveness in the precision components sector, deepen vertical integration capabilities, and continuously strengthen cooperative relationships with industry-leading clients. According to available information, Goertek's main businesses include precision components, smart acoustics, and smart hardware. Among these, precision components encompass haptic devices (motors), wireless charging devices, antennas, VR/MR optical devices, and modules, applied in smartphones, tablets, wireless headphones, VR/AR/MR devices, and AI smart glasses. The primary products of smart acoustics are smart headphones and smart speakers. Smart hardware focuses on entertainment, health, and home security, covering VR/AR/MR devices, smart wearables, home gaming consoles and accessories, as well as smart home products.
