Metallurgical Corporation of China Ltd. (MCC) announced a senior management reshuffle effective 30 March 2026. Incumbent Joint Company Secretary Ng Sau Mei will step down upon the expiry of the external service provider’s contract, while Deputy Chief Economist and Board Secretary Chang Qi will continue in his joint company secretary role.
Concurrently, MCC has appointed Chu Pik Man—assistant manager at SWCS Corporate Services Group (Hong Kong) Limited and an associate member of both The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute and The Chartered Governance Institute (UK)—as the new Joint Company Secretary. Chu brings more than seven years of corporate secretarial experience and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration (corporate governance) from Hong Kong Shue Yan University.
To ensure uninterrupted compliance with Hong Kong Listing Rules 3.28 and 8.17, MCC obtained a new waiver from the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. The waiver permits Chang Qi to continue serving as Joint Company Secretary from 30 March 2026 through 15 April 2028 while he gains the requisite experience, provided that:
1. Chang is assisted by Chu in performing company secretarial duties during the waiver period; and 2. The waiver may be revoked if MCC commits any material breach of the Listing Rules.
Before the waiver expires, MCC must demonstrate that Chang has acquired sufficient relevant experience to serve independently, or seek further regulatory guidance.
The Board expressed gratitude to outgoing Joint Company Secretary Ng Sau Mei for her contributions and welcomed Chu Pik Man to her new role.
