U.S. President Donald Trump's artificial intelligence task force held its first meeting on Thursday and agreed to address risks related to cybersecurity, biosecurity and "model control and accountability," as concerns grow over the potential dangers the technology may bring.

According to the White House's readout of the meeting, the group, called the "Superintelligence Task Force," will commission the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology to write a report to assess these issues and other concerns.

The task force will also "develop laboratory protocols and mechanisms to provide the government with early warning and systematic notification regarding data breaches, hacking, jailbreaks and other problems."

The White House said the panel, led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, plans to "establish a law enforcement and consumer protection coordination committee, with members including the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission and multiple agencies."

According to the White House readout, the task force did not discuss any new laws or rules, but "will engage with frontier model developers and other industry companies, consumer protection groups and civil liberties advocates, industry stakeholders, and federal and state law enforcement agencies to understand the situation and carry out its work."
