In the first eight months of this year, CHINA TELECOM's Tianyi Cloud revenue exceeded 70 billion yuan, achieving year-on-year growth. However, little is known about the performance of its provincial branches in cloud revenue and their contributions to the group's cloud business.
According to insiders, the top 10 provincial branches contributing the most to CHINA TELECOM's cloud revenue are: Guangdong Telecom, Shanghai Telecom, Jiangsu Telecom, Zhejiang Telecom, Sichuan Telecom, Anhui Telecom, Hunan Telecom, Hebei Telecom, Beijing Telecom, and Fujian Telecom. Among them, eight are from southern China, while only two—Hebei Telecom and Beijing Telecom—are from the north.
These branches are primarily located in economically developed regions with strong demand for digital transformation, particularly in high-tech, finance, and internet industries, providing a vast market for cloud services. Additionally, most of these branches are key provincial operations with solid infrastructure, including high-speed broadband networks and data centers, ensuring efficient cloud service delivery.
Areas like the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta, with dense data center coverage and extensive network support, offer robust infrastructure for enterprise cloud adoption.
Industry experts note that CHINA TELECOM's Tianyi Cloud has emerged as a leading player in China's cloud service market, excelling in government and private cloud sectors, with these 10 branches playing a pivotal role in its success.
