On March 30, authorities from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Sichuan Province announced the release and implementation of the "Sichuan Characteristic Agricultural Products 'Going Global' Action Plan (2026–2030)." The plan was jointly formulated by the Provincial Rural Work Leading Group Office, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Department of Commerce, and Chengdu Customs.

The action plan outlines five key tasks aimed at expanding the presence of Sichuan’s distinctive agricultural products in both domestic and international markets. In 2025, the export value of Sichuan's agricultural products reached 8.55 billion yuan. Based on local agricultural conditions, the plan introduces targeted measures to support the "Going Global" initiative.

The five major tasks include: establishing a provincial-level comprehensive service platform for agricultural product trade to integrate resources and support the entire export chain; developing marketing talent in production areas and procurement teams in sales regions to enhance market expansion capabilities; fostering high-quality entities engaged in agricultural exports and strengthening international supply chains; improving agricultural trade hubs and logistics networks; and exploring both domestic and international markets to elevate the influence of the "Tianfu Granary" brand.

The plan aims to achieve substantial breakthroughs over five years in platform development, entity cultivation, hub construction, and market expansion, thereby steadily increasing the scale and quality of Sichuan’s characteristic agricultural products in global trade. By the end of 2027, the province targets total agricultural exports to reach 100 billion yuan. By the end of 2030, it expects the development level of its export-oriented agriculture to reach a new stage.
